EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT COSMETIC TATTOOING, LASH EXTENSIONS & BODY SCUPLTING
Hey there! So you're curious about cosmetic tattooing? Great!
At The Beauty Pitt, we love helping people feel confident and beautiful through these awesome procedures. But before you jump in, let's make sure you're a suitable candidate. We want to avoid any disappointments on appointment day, trust us!
Who would benefit from cosmetic tattoos, you ask? Well, if you're someone who applies brow pencil or powder daily to cover up bald spots or scarring, have very fair brows and lash hair, suffer from Alopecia or other hair loss problems, are dissatisfied with the shape of your eyebrows or lips, or just want a more no-fuss beauty routine, cosmetic tattooing might be perfect for you. Plus, if you have vision problems when pencilling or shading in your brows, we're here to help!
Just a heads up, within Australia, you need to be 18 years or older to have any cosmetic tattoo procedure. And don't worry about safety and hygiene, we're a registered skin penetration clinic and take our protocols very seriously.
If you're pregnant, unfortunately we require you to wait until after you have the baby before getting tattooed, as we use anaesthetics during the process. If you're breastfeeding, we suggest expressing for 48 hours or waiting until you've finished feeding.
Now, let's talk about consultations. The first part of the process is a consultation, which can be done separately or as part of your initial treatment. There's a $50 fee for a separate consultation, but don't worry, it's fully redeemable against the price of your tattoo if you decide to proceed. During the consultation, we'll go over your medical history and discuss the look you're trying to achieve. This is a two-way conversation, so we'll listen, respond, and advise. Once we have an idea of what you want, we'll draw the brows on with a makeup pencil. We won't start the tattooing process until you're completely happy with the look.
The initial appointment usually takes 2 hours. We'll mark out the shape that suits your facial features and choose a colour that matches your skin tone. Oh, and if you have OCD, brow tattoos might not be the best choice for you, as eyebrows are never 100% identical. But don't worry, we'll do our best to create as much symmetry as possible.
If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to us anytime. We're happy to help! Below are some FAQ's that we hope will answer many of the common questions we receive!
WHAT ARE THE PIGMENTS?
The pigments used are a safe non-reactive substance. The cosmetic pigments are specifically manufactured for implantation into human skin. I have a wide selection of colours ranging from super light to super dark, colours can also be mixed to find the perfect colour for you.
The result will depend on 50% pigment colour you choose and 50% healing. Colours will appear darker and more sharply defined immediately following the procedure, colours will lighten and soften in 7 – 10 days by approx. 40%.
PERFECTION VISIT
The perfection appointment of ombre powder brow tattoo is the follow-up session that usually takes place 4-6 weeks after the initial treatment. During this appointment, we will assess how the pigment has settled and make any necessary touch-ups to perfect the shape, colour, and density of the brow tattoo. This ensures that the final result looks natural and complements your facial features.
Ombre Powder/Combo Touch Up - $150
COLOUR BOOST (TOUCH UP)
The procedures are semi-permanent, so will begin to noticeably fade after 12-24 months. Your brow tattoo will need to be maintained (Touch Ups). Maintenance varies from person to person; some clients may need more visits than others. Fading can be due to various reasons i.e., fast metabolisms, oilier skin, lifestyle factors etc. Most clients have their brow tattoo touched up every 12-18 months.
IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO BE AWARE OF AFTER THE TATTOO?
For brows it is extremely important you do not get water on them for 7-10 days (includes sweat and steam). You cannot swim in the ocean or pool for 14 days as salt water/chlorine draws out the pigment. After the procedure you need to wear an aftercare cream (which I provide) for 7-10 days. I do provide you with an Aftercare Sheet that explains everything in detail, I also explain this to you verbally at the end of your appointment.
DOES IT HURT?
Most clients feel little to nothing at all; however everyone's pain level is different. Topical anaesthetic is applied during the procedure. Some clients naturally feel more pain at times of menstruation.
DO YOU TAKE FISH OIL OR IBUPROFEN REGULARLY?
Fish oils and Ibuprofen thins the blood which causes the wound to reject pigment therefore often results in poor tattoo retention. If you are taking them for a boost please discontinue use for a MINIMUM of 7 days prior to your procedure, preferably longer. If you have been advised to take them for medical reasons, please consult with your medical practitioner. Never stop medication without your practitioner’s advice. This may mean you will need an additional Perfection Visit to achieve optimal results.
DO YOU GET WRINKLE RELAXERS OR FILLERS?
Please ensure you have your Botox/Disport/Fillers etc at least 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after your Brow Tattoo appointment.
ARE YOU ON HRT OR HAVE HORMONAL IMBALANCES INCLUDING THYROID CONDITIONS?
Hormonal imbalances and or medications/remedies may cause cosmetic pigment to fade quicker and can sometimes (although very rare) alter change in colour due to pigment base tone. Please bear this in mind when booking your appointment.
NO CHILDREN POLICY
Please do not bring any children or anyone else with you to your tattoo appointment, my insurance does not allow anyone else in the procedure room. This also includes your Perfection Visit.
LATE POLICY AND CANCELLATION
Please do not be late for your appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment your tattoo will not be done that day and your deposit will be forfeited. Cancellations/rescheduling within 72 hours of treatment will also result in deposit being forfeited - no exceptions.
